LEAF is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to quality education for children and youth in underserved communities across Kenya. We strive to bridge the education gap by providing essential resources, training, and opportunities that empower students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Through partnerships and innovative teaching methods, we aim to create lasting change and ensure that every child, regardless of their socio-economic status, has the opportunity to succeed.

Our Team

Eleanor
Since 2017, Eleanor has led charity efforts with Nairobi Changemakers on InterNations, coordinated the volunteer-run Malezi Technical Education Program teaching computer skills to Majengo Slums children, and since 2022 has worked with the School of Hope in Kibera and other schools in Kisii, Turkana, and Oloitokitok.
In addition to her charitable work, Eleanor is the founder and owner of Little More Adventures, a Kenya-based travel agency specializing in tailor-made trips and safaris.
She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Finance. Professionally, she has worked with Biersdorf – Central, East & West Africa – as a Finance Analyst, implementing business systems in Kenya and Ghana, as well as managing budget control in Nigeria.
Her diverse experiences, entrepreneurial spirit, and teamwork skills will strongly contribute to the new organization’s success.

Corinne
Corinne works in the Aviation Sector, specializing in International Commercial deals across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. With 25 years of experience in sales and operations support and a master’s degree in Political Science & International Relations, she is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
In her spare time, she volunteers, having worked with children at the School of Hope in Kibera Slums since moving to Kenya. She is passionate about working with children, especially girls, and plans to continue her work in Kenya for as long as possible. She believes her diverse experience will enable her to connect easily with potential international partners for the new organization.

Tenno
Originally from Suriname, Tenno runs his own company as a Technical Consultant in Industrial Software Engineering, managing projects across the UAE and Europe.
He also serves as a Software Development Professional Trainer in Suriname, offering online training for youth, and frequently travels to Kenya where he has collaborated on various charity projects with Eleanor in Kisii and Kibera-Majengo Slums. Additionally, he has worked with the Kaduwinia Foundation in the Netherlands, partnering with World Hansen in the Netherlands and Kind Heart Foundation in Kisumu.

Sarah
Sarah, a global public health professional with over 10 years of experience working across U.S. government agencies, multilateral donors, nonprofits, private sectors, and academia.
With four years of experience in developing countries (Ethiopia, Malawi, South Sudan, Vanuatu), Sarah’s expertise spans program management, business development, and evaluation, particularly in maternal-child health and HIV projects. Currently a Senior Regional Engagement Manager at World Vision, supporting East Africa, she has a strong background in program monitoring, research, financial oversight, and strategic advising, with a successful track record in new business development.

Robert
Robert has been involved in the Kenyan Education Sector since 1990, working as a teacher, headteacher of various high schools, and later as a staffing officer with the Teacher’s Service Commission (TSC) for 10 years, ultimately retiring in July 2024 as a Sub County Director after 11 years in the role.
He has extensive knowledge of the current education landscape in Kenya and will offer valuable insights into government dealings, leveraging his strong connections within the education sector to support project feasibility assessments, school and student selection, and the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of projects.

Claes
Claes, a Swedish national, divides his time between Kenya and Portugal. As a business developer, he works on several personal ventures and provides consulting services to small companies in Sweden.
His primary focus is raising funds for the public sector, including cities, universities, municipalities, and regions, by securing financial support from the European Regional Development Fund and overseeing project planning, strategy, and implementation
Collectively, this team brings a diverse set of expertise crucial for NGO management and development, with all members experienced in international business development, securing funding for various initiatives, and managing cross-cultural projects across various regions.
Additionally, they bring valuable experience in youth training, coordination, and have a deep commitment to working with marginalized communities, particularly in the fields of education, technology, and youth development
