Objective
Almost 1.13 million children of primary school age (6 to 13 years old) in Kenya are already missing out on education. More are in desperate need of educational support. - UNICEF Kenya, 2020. The situation has worsened with the Covid-19 pandemic. The percentage of school-aged children (6 to 15 years) out of school in Kenya increased from 7.5% in 2021 to 8.5% in 2023. Worryingly, too, the majority of the children out of school are from households whose heads have no formal education. - The Star Magazine, 2024.
That’s where LEAF comes in: To support sustainable access to quality education for all children and youth in Kenya.
LEAF aligns all activities to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number four: Promoting Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education for all Children and Youth.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global set of 17 interconnected objectives aimed at addressing urgent environmental, social, and economic challenges to create a more sustainable and equitable world by 2030.

All our projects will fall under below Objective Outcomes that ensures LEAF adheres to the goals set. They include:
- Quality Access: To ensure that disadvantaged children are provided with continuous quality education by focusing on access to learning materials, facility setup and improvement.
- Equity & Gender Equality: To ensure no child is left behind. Support education access to the most vulnerable children, including girls and children with disabilities.
- Sustainability/Continuity: To ensure children stay in school until they complete their education by working with the community to offer sponsorship, volunteer and mentorship programs.
